Blu-ray release: ‘Magnificent Bodyguards’

88 Films are bringing the 1978 Hong Kong martial arts movie ‘Magnificent Bodyguards’ (飛渡捲雲山) to UK Blu-ray on September 23 and to US Blu-ray on November 12, 2024.

Directed by Lo Wei, the film revolves around a Kung Fu master who assembles a group of guards to escort an ailing person through dangerous terrain to reach a doctor. The cast includes Jackie Chan, James Tien, Bruce Leung, Wang Ping, Liu Ming, Luk Chuen, and Fang Fang.

Synopsis: Ting Chung (Jackie Chan) is asked by a young, wealthy lady to take her sick brother to a particular doctor in order to be cured. To reach this doctor, Chung and a handful of travelling companions must pass through wild country infested with bandits, savages, and evil monks.
