‘Drifting’ (97 혜자, 표류기) is a 2025 South Korean drama directed by Jung Ki-Hyuk.

The film follows a young contract worker who returns to her hometown of Busan in search of money to improve her life in Seoul, only to be confronted by her mother’s death and a debt owed by an old family friend. The cast includes Jung Eun-Ji, Kim Joo-An, Lee Hye, and Woo Joo-Young.

Synopsis: Born in 1997, Hye-Ja has left Busan behind for Seoul, where she works at an insurance call centre and dreams of escaping her basement flat. When an opportunity arises to move into an officetel, she returns home hoping to borrow money from her mother. Instead, Hye-Ja discovers that her mother has died and learns that her old friend Hee-Sook owes her money. Determined to collect the debt, Hye-Ja sets off with Hee-Sook on a journey that gradually reveals secrets about her mother’s life. [© Far East Films]
