‘The Trier of Fact’ (守闕者) is a 2026 Hong Kong crime action thriller directed by Calvin Tong.
The film follows an Internal Affairs officer and a veteran narcotics inspector whose uneasy relationship evolves into a conflict over justice and loyalty. The cast includes Louis Koo, Eddie Peng, Philip Keung, Bowie Lam, and Raymond Lam.
Synopsis: Kwok Sheung-yin, a young Internal Affairs officer, is assigned to infiltrate another division of the police force and gather evidence against veteran narcotics inspector Che Ching-kwong, who is suspected of maintaining ties to organised crime. As the investigation unfolds, Kwok discovers that Che’s controversial methods are linked to an effort to protect a former mentor from a criminal conspiracy. Torn between loyalty to a man he has come to respect and his duty to uphold the law, he finds himself drawn into a conflict that will test his beliefs about justice and integrity. [© Far East Films]
